Format: (may alter according to preferences of the group)

Case discussion raised by participants, discussions of any lactation-related topic that participants raise, respectful and kind debate and dissent amongst participants welcomed! All perspectives included. (Note: this format is intended to be different to NDC Live Network Hours, where Pam generally guides the discussions - the Lactation Medicine discussion group is intended to be group-led.)

What makes joining in worthwhile?

In this group, you’ll find the following are welcomed:

  • Research-based integration with other domains of infant care

  • Transparency about difference between theoretical models and what is demonstrated to be effective (because lactation medicine remains a research frontier!)

  • Non-ideological orientation. No covert (nor overt) exclusion of any medical professional or their research or education contributions for ideological reasons. This is a space in which interdisciplinary engagement with the science and heart-centred clinical care are our guiding values.

  • Celebration of dissent, debate, difference, and cherishing of intellectual courage - for the sake of women who breastfeed (however little or much), their infants, and their families.

What cost?

No cost. Open to all medical practitioners. No need to book ahead.
